BIOGRAPHY OF RICHARD ROGERS
Richard Rogers’ lifelong commitment to public service was shaped early by his personal encounters with three American presidents. Among these, a meeting with President Gerald Ford left a lasting impression, inspiring a deep sense of civic duty and a drive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. That inspiration launched a public life that has spanned more than 38 years across political, diplomatic, and community-focused efforts.
A trusted voice in national discourse, Richard served as the host of the This Week in Washington podcast, where he led timely and thoughtful conversations on pressing domestic and global issues. He also played a pivotal behind-the-scenes role in American political history, serving as Assistant Director of Technical Communications at multiple Republican National Conventions and Presidential Inaugurations. His technical expertise was further called upon during the 1990 Summit of Industrialized Nations in Houston, Texas, where he contributed to the seamless coordination of international communications efforts.
Richard’s devotion to public service extends far beyond politics. From 2022 to 2024, he served on the board of the Tri-City Animal Shelter, championing humane treatment and animal welfare. He also volunteered his time and talents at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, where his service was recognized in May 2024 with the presentation of the Distinguished Service Medal.
An engaged citizen of the world, Richard is an active member of the Dallas-Fort Worth World Affairs Council, where he contributes to ongoing dialogue and initiatives that promote global understanding and cooperation. In June 2024, he was appointed to the Keep DeSoto Beautiful Board, reaffirming his enduring dedication to environmental stewardship and community improvement in his hometown.
